So 2nd weigh in on Saturday has come and gone. I am a little upset with myself I was hoping for 8-10 pounds but ended up with about 4.5. Now the last 7 days I have not worked out because I have been really sick and under the weather. I will be starting up today after work, I just have a cough right now and trying to fight through that. Since I hanve not done any lifting or cardio for a week I do not know what to expect today. I would suspect I will be very winded and will have to reduce my weights. Anyway hopefully I can get back on track and have set a new goal for the next weigh in and will be aiming for it.

6 workouts till weigh in
So with only 6 days until the next weigh in I will be pushing hard for the extra pounds to come off. Though I think I am fighting off a virus or something because I have been getting the chills really easily this past weekend, along with cold sweats. I don't have any other symtoms, no fever, no cough, just the sweats & chills and that I was really tired this weekend. I wanted to run 5 miles yesterday because is was so nice outside but choice not too, just give my body a little more time to recover. I will see after my workout tonight if I am doing, if I do have a flu or something hopefully the past couple of days was my body telling me "relax dude, we need some rest". Other than that I looking forward to Month #2 weigh in and seeing how everyone else is doing. Hopefully everyone is on track with their own goals and everyone is happy with the progress they made.

Weekend
So I have been really pusing myself over the last couple of days and it has caught up with me. Yesterday I took a 2 hour nap and then went to bed around 8:30. My body is beat. I was supposed to run today and do some cardio but I think I am going to rest and recoup. Everything else seems to be going well and looking forward to this saturday's weigh in. I am projecting about 8 pound loss but we will see.

Run Fat Boy Run
Running, the sheer name of the activity gave me the sweats. So I ran when I played sports in High School and College but that was only during workouts and drills. Some 20 years ago my gym class would have to run a mile every year and get timed. Needless to say I was not in the top 5 nor top 25. Running to me was worthless, I never got it. Why run when you can take a bike or car? It just looked boring and that was just watching people run outside. Inside on a treadmill would drive me insane.
So of course when I started my personal war on myself to lose 200 pounds one of the activities I was going to do is run on an almost daily basis. The day finally came when I would really push myself. It was March 24 2009 and I weighed about 370 lbs. That was the day I decided to see if i could run 2 miles, now I had be working out since Jan 5th of 2009 and I had lost 20 pounds, but I still was not running/jogging. I knew it was going to hurt and that I purposely was going to do this to my body. I was only able to go a distance of 2.01 miles in 28 minutes which was about 14 mile. Mind you I was jogging and walking in the time frame because I could not run non-stop. I remember half way thru I was going to give up, no way could I do this. No way could I take another step. Heck I was sweating so bad and wheezing so heavily that I actually thought I would have a heart attack. I managed to finish and the next day when I woke up I had a choice. Either give up and say it was too hard or punish myself once again so I could lose wieght.
Well that was exactly 168 runs, 400 miles, 80 hours and 90,000 calories ago, my current mile is around 10 min also I have managed to run upwards of 5 miles at a time non stop. Now over a course of 2 years that might not seem like much, roughly 4 miles a week. Currently I am working to improve the numbers but to me it means a lot. First it means I did not die, I did not pass out, I did not quit. I got up the next day and ran/walked another 2 miles. So remember tons of people will tell you can, tons of people will say you can't but the one person that decides to give up or not is you. You can quit or you can kick your own ass. Personally I like to kick ass.

Week 5
So far everything is going well. I have had a couple days of higher calorie intake but I have been lifting and running more so I am burning more calories. Over the weekend I did a little research into types of food I should eat and others that I should avoid. I also watched a documentary about weight loss and eating right and found some interesting theories on the whole carb / protein diets. So I have crafted a meal plan that I will be using for the next 5 weeks that I hope will help me in losing weight. Also to help lead me to better eating habits. This would be the first time I have every had a strict meal plan, usually I have an idea of what I want to eat and just make it or buy it then log it down and see if i can eat more or less or if i have to work out more. This time I am laying it all out and knowing exactly what & when I will be eating. Hopefully this will take a strong hold and after the 5 weeks I should see if I need or want to still have a set food plan.
